Nozzlehead Books and Author TJ Spencer is honored to be a part of the Skype in the Classroom program through Microsoft Education. We just began our journey, but we are branching out to reach students in classrooms all over the world. What better way to spread our message of safety to kids!
What do you know about Skype in the Classroom? Well, “Skype in the Classroom is an online community that enables thousands of teachers to inspire the next generation of global citizens through transformative learning over Skype”. It is a Microsoft Education program that makes learning fun, innovative and connects guest speakers with classrooms around the world. Speakers prepare lessons, read books, kids can interview professionals to learn about a topic or subject from an expert. Classrooms can even collaborate with another classroom of kids in a different city, state or country. “Teaching through technology to connect students worldwide”. Kids get to ask questions live during the experience. They can also take a “Virtual Field Trip” where experts can take the class out in the field to enhance the lesson. My favorite is the global game of “Mystery Skype”. You can play with another classroom around the world or right next door. It’s a guessing game! Who will ask the right questions to find out where that classroom is in the world. This inspires critical thinking and empowers kids to love to learn, be comfortable with technology, to experience lessons beyond the classroom. We love it!

“Awesome book, awesome author! The Nozzlhead books went above and beyond my expectations. I work with 4th and 5th grade students and they were really excited to learn about firemen and how they work with people to keep them safe. My class also had the opportunity to meet and chat with TJ Spencer (the author) through Skype in the Classroom Education. He talked about his time as a fireman and an author. He took the time to listen to the children and answer their questions. I recommend this series to students of all ages. Great series written by a great author! Mr. Adams
